Helping Families Navigate Schools, Secure Support, and Advocate with Confidence

Understanding your child's needs is important. Ensuring those needs are recognized and supported within the educational environment is equally important.

At the Neurodevelopment & Family Advocacy Institute, we help families navigate educational systems, communicate effectively with schools, understand available supports, and advocate for the accommodations and services their children need to succeed.

Whether your child attends a public school, private school, charter school, or homeschool program, we work collaboratively with families and educators to promote student success and well-being.

Navigating educational systems can feel overwhelming, but families do not have to do it alone.

Educational Advocacy

Many parents know their child is struggling but feel uncertain about how to communicate concerns, request support, or navigate school processes. Educational advocacy helps families understand their options, identify appropriate supports, and effectively advocate for their child's educational needs. Our goal is to empower parents to become informed and confident advocates for their children. Advocacy services may include:

  • Parent consultations
  • Review of educational concerns
  • Guidance regarding school support options
  • Accommodation recommendations

Individual Accommodation Plans (IAPs) for Private Schools

Many private schools do not operate under the same special education framework as public schools. As a result, families often need individualized plans that outline practical accommodations and supports tailored to a student's unique learning profile.

We assist families and schools in developing Individual Accommodation Plans (IAPs) that help educators understand and support students with ADHD, Autism, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, learning differences, and other developmental needs. Our recommendations are designed to be practical, collaborative, and student-centered. An Individual Accommodation Plan may include recommendations related to:

  • Attention and focus supports
  • Executive functioning accommodations
  • Classroom modifications
  • Testing accommodations

School Consultation Services

Effective collaboration between families and schools often leads to better outcomes for students. Our consultation services help schools better understand student needs and identify strategies that promote academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success. Consultation services may include:

  • Review of evaluation findings
  • Classroom support recommendations
  • Accommodation planning

We strive to create productive partnerships between families and educational teams.

Accommodation Planning and Support

Children often perform best when barriers to learning are reduced and appropriate supports are implemented. Our focus is helping students access their education in a manner that supports both achievement and well-being.Based on assessment findings and individual needs, we provide recommendations that may support:

  • Academic success
  • Attention and concentration
  • Organization and planning
  • Time management

Parent Advocacy Coaching

Parents are often expected to make important educational decisions without receiving adequate guidance. Parent advocacy coaching helps caregivers better understand educational systems, prepare for meetings, communicate concerns effectively, and advocate for appropriate support. Our goal is to help parents feel informed, empowered, and prepared. Topics may include:

  • Understanding evaluation reports
  • Navigating school meetings
  • Requesting accommodation

Support for Neurodiverse Learners

Students with ADHD, Autism, executive functioning challenges, and other neurodevelopmental differences often require thoughtful and individualized support. We help families and schools identify strategies that promote:

  • Academic engagement
  • Emotional well-being
  • Social success
  • Self-advocacy

Every child deserves an environment where they feel understood, supported, and capable of success.
